I'd be more interested in fixing attribute lines with few or no playable builds in PvE because of PvP nerfs. Just tweaking some numbers if changing skill functionality is too much work. It's sad that GW2 comes out before some classes get much needed revamps.

I'll echo uby's lament. If the devs are gonna leave us to our devices, at least leave us with a more 'whole' game than we have now.

There is not a single class in the game that is incapable of playing and beating HM content. Some are more powerful or versatile than others, but everyone has builds that at least work and, honestly, are more powerful than anything we had access to 4 years ago. Nothing needs to be "fixed" to leave the game in stasis.

Given that an empty bar is capable of beating hm content, it's hardly a sign that everything is golden and no changes are needed.

I don't think they will do anything AFTER guild wars 2 is out, sadly. I don't see why they would, they seem to want to get Guild Wars to come to an end now. I haven't even done the beyond stuff for cantha, I couldn't be bothered. I don't see why there would be much story in quests that just tells us to go kill stuff, ALL THE TIME...

So your argument is that some classes are so bad in PvE that they may as well bring an empty bar? Because I think that's BS. The difference between top-tier PvE classes and bottom tier classes (in terms of soloing with 7 heroes) is far smaller than that.
I'm saying that no class is in such a sorry state that they would "need" an update before the game is permanently taken off of support, not that "everything is golden". Do you see the difference?

Relax. What he means is that you can bring a blank skillbar on any class into HM content and succeed. This is done often in hero team build testing. Your argument amounts to "if it can clear HM, it's fine", which is very clearly not the case since you can clear HM content without anything on the skillbar at all.

I would love, absolutely LOVE, if ArenaNet had rangers actually using a bow as part of a meta build for end game at any point in time. The fail way they balanced the game to have rangers shunned or forced into bringing DwG or some other secondary garbage is BS and one of the biggest failures of GW imo. Brief windows of barrage existed but for the most part bow rangers never had a place in the end game meta and that's and absolutely pathetic reflection on the company's ability to balance a game to make it enjoyable (or in some cases, playable - as defined by an equal/close to equal chance to get into a group, for everyone no matter the class).
As far as GW:B getting more content, don't expect anything before the launch of GW2. They took the Live Team off the game earlier this year and at the rate they push out new content, even if they got moved back to GW1 today they wouldn't be able to accomplish anything meaningful. I wouldn't be surprised if they never reform once GW2 launches (despite Stumme saying he wanted to continue GW:B after GW2 launches), it seems much more profitable to put them onto GW2, especially seeing as many of the primary reasons for having them on GW1 are no longer relevant once GW2 launches. Most of the lore gaps will be filled in with text books or dialogue in GW2. Sure we won't experience them, but we will know the details of certain events taking place. To be completely honest, most of the GW:B content (especially the WiK stuff) was very light in lore value. The plot development was almost paper thin and most of the content was gameplay with little story backing it up. WoC was different (with a lot more story involved) but less directly relevant to GW2 (seeing as Cantha is closed off - although it probably offered more closure than what we would have gotten otherwise from GW2 alone).

Winds of Change actually had a lot of plot and character development. It was one of the more fleshed out and story driven parts of the game.
The biggest disappointments for me are that we never got to see Ebon Hawke founded and we never got to continue the story into Ascalon. Evenia's disappearance is kind of an annoying lose thread to leave open so obviously. I wish they had managed to clear that one up before GW2 launched.
Maybe there is an opportunity to create mirrored storylines in GW1 and GW2. They want to bring in a new mystery or a new faction in GW2 and link it to the past, or flesh out its story in the world 250 years ago so they could release content in GW1 which continues to develop into content from GW2.
Regardless I think it's unlikely we will see more GW:B content, before or after GW2.

I wonder if there are going to be any more hints towards GW2 when the release date is nearing.

It's possible the Live Team put something together and it's on the back burner until near release. They did have the pre-release events for Factions, Nightfall, and EotN after all. Plus, they had a tidy chunk of development time between the final chapter of WoC and their transfer to GW2.
It's possible... but I'm not holding my breath.

BMP style missions, of course. We already had this with certain ranger-turned-to-paragon and it could be done in GW2.
It really depends on how hard it would be to reuse GW1 map geometry in GW2 (or create maps solely for BMP), because after that is is matter of spawns and story.

We'll see Evennia in GW2 as one of Palawa Joko's generals I tell you!
Seriously though, I want to see Ebonhawke founded! And maybe Gwen's first baby too :P

Although I would honestly love to see more Beyond content too and have hoped for a rather long time now that it would happen, I will now say that I find it unlikely to happen.
And those saying WiK is shorther than WoC, did you join in from the very start? I mean as it was first released in little bits. Because as I recall it there was quite some waiting times there too between each bit. The bits were smaller (some were really just watching some npc chatter) but there was waiting. WoC released bigger chunks, thus longer waiting between I guess. But in my memory they are not that different really.

Maybe they mean it's shorter in repeats. When you repeat you don't have all that waiting anymore, and they even cut off most of the dialogues and stuff.
Tbh I loved all those hints and bitty bit given content, it gave much immersion and curiosity.
After seeing how woc ruined for me my favourite continent, I'm not much into seeing the elona part. Same for Evennia, I prefer to leave that like those books with open ending, when they leave to the reader imagining how it really ended. Imho she married Adelbern, or he killed her in his hate for Krytians more likely! Yes yes I have that high opinion of him.
At any rate, like some others I'd prefer they'd really finish working on those professions rather than adding new content, if they really were to still work on the game. You play beyond ones, while skill changes give you lot more to play on. I'd be happy if they left ranger how it is, but paragons can't be left as they are, and the half ele update was...half!

I am assuming by saying wik is shorter they meant the time needed to complete all parts at once sinve WiK only takes a couple hours at most where as WoC takes substantially longer.

Better yet, a random quotation somewhere, like, say, a gravestone with her name carved on it, and a short summary of what we've been missing about her.
Problem (apparently) solved, 0 effort required. Perfect Anet style.

This worked fantastic for Saidra and we weren't even given an explanation I can recall as to why her ashes were left in the middle of nowhere.

Perhaps, I never actually did WiK after finishing it on my ranger, because I was so tired of it after farming the wanted quests way too much between the release of each part.
WoC on the other hand I did in nm on 2 extra characters... imo it is easier accessible, no confusion about where to start or where to go next at any point.
I honestly liked both WiK and WoC and don't really understand all the hate on WoC. The way it is introduced and build up etc. etc. but I still like both
